Finn McQueen was the ex-boyfriend of Jane Herzfeld. He and Jane broke up 5 months before her death in "Kick the Ballistics".
After Jane was found murdered, Finn became a suspect, and as such was brought under interrogation by the authorities, during which he lied to them by saying he had nothing to do with the case. Finn insisted to Detectives Ryan and Esposito that Jane wouldn't do ever do anything wrong and that she was a good girl, unlike him. While they ended their relationship, they remained friends.
The detectives eventually found security camera footage of Finn in possession of a gun, but it was not a match to the murder weapon.
Finn's involvement in Jane's murder became clear once it was discovered that he called Philip Lee to tell him that his brother Ben was leaving town with Jane, as the pair were secret lovers.
After Finn was taken into custody, Ryan confronted him in his cell. He discovered that Finn had gifted Jane a cross necklace on her 21st birthday, which she was revealed to have been in possession of when Phillip shot her. Although clearly guilt-ridden and driven to tears, Finn refused to confess that Philip killed Jane, likely out of fear, forcing Ryan to reach out to Ben instead.
