Roger Farraday was the murder victim in "A Deadly Game" and husband of Melinda Farraday.
Farraday was a player in spy games through a company called Spy Ventures who used aliases such as Shawn Caldwell (Fastwater Global Services), John Mason (Kerslan International Consulting), and Paul Chenausky (Godici(?) Global Consulting), as well as "223".
Farraday paid $10,000 to Spy Ventures for his and Andrea Fisher’s spy-cation, as they were having an affair. He was murdered by Andrea's husband, Ken Fisher, who shot him 5 times in the chest because he discovered Farraday's affair with his wife.
His next task was to have been making contact with Hans Brauer, and it is at this juncture that Castle steps into his shoes. Castle and Beckett discover that, in his real life, Farraday was in business with Lee Copley - they ran a car dealership together.
