Zack Metzger was the lead guitarist of the band Blue Pill. A drug addict like many of his co-stars under John McGinnis' label, he had a history of violent behavior. He often clashed with the lead singer, Hayley Blue.
Zack was furious when Hayley disbanded Blue Pill to get rid of the toxic influence on her life, feeling he was being abandoned just as she was about to achieve major label success for the band. Neither Zack nor McGinnis could do anything to stop Hayley since she was the sole owner of the group's rights. This gave Zack a motive to kill her but he alibied out due to playing at a 16th birthday the night of Hayley's death.
