Owen Peterson is the president of "The Gaslamp League", the private steampunk club at the heart of matters in "Punked".
Owen himself describes the club and its membership in the following terms:-
"We're just romantics, Detective. Look at the world, don't like what we see, so we recreate it here - an oasis where human potential and ingenuity is limitless, where there's poetry and wonder and meaning, even in death."
He therefore mourns his friend Daniel Goldstein in poetry and wine, with a celebration of life. His demeanor becomes far more serious, however, when he hears how Daniel died, and realizes that the League's dueling pistols may have been in use, although he tries to point out that they are 'just for show'.
Since his explanation is interrupted by the appearance of Adam Murphy, Owen is not called upon to provide any further clarification.
